Dexter L. Lamb, 79, Anderson, went to be with the Lord at 5:17 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on November 10, 1936, to the late Thomas and Mary Jo Lamb.

Dexter was a veteran of the National Guard and was employed with Carey Services for 12 years as a forklift operator prior to retirement. He attended First Friends Church in Marion. Dexter enjoyed scroll work, fishing, and playing on the computer, and he also loved horses.

Survivors include his companion of 19 years, Nancy Holmes, Anderson; children, Jeff Lamb, Nappanee, Deann Sparks, Marion, Andy (Bonnie) Lamb, Van Buren, Steve (Ginger) Lamb, Marion, Monty (Marla) Lamb, Fairmount, Corrie (Tom) Jones, Jamestown, Amanda Phillips, Alexandria, and Tony (Melisa) Holmes, Sharpsville. Whether they were natural, adopted, or step, Dexter loved them all. He is also survived by many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, John Lamb.

In addition to his parents, his daughter, Anita Atkins, preceded him in death.

Visitation for Dexter will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Gary McCaslin officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park. The family requests to please wear casual clothing.
