Detrash the Wabash in Peru on April 21st

PERU, Ind. – It’s time once again in Peru to “Detrash the Wabash” river cleanup. On April 21st, volunteers will be walking the section of the Wabash River on each side between Broadway and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Volunteers will need to meet at the Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 221 West Riverside Drive in Peru before 9am for registration. Children are welcome but may not be left unsupervised and waivers are required (waivers will be taken care of during the registration process).  Everyone that attends will receive a free t-shirt and a chance to win door prizes that have been donated by local businesses.  Pizza, hot dogs, snacks, and drinks will be served afterwards as well. If you plan to attend please wear long sleeves, pants, gloves, and boots. Volunteers can register by calling Stormwater Coordinator Nick Parkman at 765-473-6681 ext. 2002.
