Denis K. Lucas, 81, was born on March 28, 1936 in Yale, Oklahoma. He passed away in Miller’s Merry Manor, Marion on Monday.
Denis was a life long resident of Grant County. In 1967 he married Virginia Wilkins, she preceded him in death in 2005. He worked for RCA, Hartson-Kennedy and retired after 31 years from Foster Forbes. Denis loved Upland and Hartford City and loved his country life. Family and friends will remember him as being an upfront and straight forward person. Denis was a NASCAR fan and he was a former member the Moose Lodge and Mississinewa Battlefield Society.
Denis is survived by his step children, Debra Keung, Larry Hickman, both from Kalamazoo, Michigan; Catherine (Randy) Eppard, Marion; grandchildren, Josh Hickman, Andy Hickman, Kelsey Goodrich, Crystal Keung; nephew and caretaker, Shawn (Alyssa) Sexton, Muncie; six great-grandchildren.
Denis is preceded in death by his foster parents, Fred and Faye Ferguson; biological mother, Leah Flemming; grandson, Mitchell Hickman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 4-6 pm in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana.
