Delbert L. Brummett, 69, Marion, died at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 in Marion General Hospital. He was born in London, Kentucky to the late John Wesley and Gracie (Jackson) Brummett where he also attended high school. In 1986, Delbert married Linda Thompson and she survives.

Delbert was a United States Army veteran and was employed as a truck driver with Syndicate Sales and Weaver Popcorn. He was also a self-employed mechanic and enjoyed fixing cars and motorcycles. Delbert enjoyed charity rides and helping anyone who needed help. He loved camping with family and traveling to Gatlinburg and the mountains. He was very family oriented.

In addition to his wife, Delbert is survived by his children, Ron (Amanda) Brummett, Billy Ray (Erica) Brummett, Melissa (Ron) Callahan, Steven McPheron; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, John Brummett; sisters, Edna Faye (Carl) Rigsby and Vena Grimes; and several nieces and nephews.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN.

A memorial service to celebrate Delbert’s life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
