David Newsome, age 59, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 6:30 am at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He worked for General Aluminum, was devoted to his family, and enjoyed repairing cars and watching movies.
David was born June 29, 1956, in Ligon, Kentucky, the son of Bill and Draxie (Caudill) Newsome. On December 27, 1975 he married his beloved wife of 40 years Brenda Shively in Wise, Virginia and she survives in Huntington. Also surviving are 4 children Misty (Joshua) Cline, April (Isaac) Griffith, David N. (Julie) Newsome, and Meranda Newsome all of Huntington, 4 grandchildren Brittany Cline, Derrick Cline, Colton Lucas and Christopher Anthony Michael Sturgill, and Chariy Barton, and 3 sisters Geraldine Shaw and Carol Sue Hamilton both of Huntington and Violet Buchanan of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by a grandson Anthony Lucas, a brother William Newsome, and 4 sisters Ethel Tackett, Charlene Rackey, Marlene Hamilton and Katherine Howell.
