David L. Robinson, 69, Marion, died at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion at 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was born in Marion to Floyd and Lovina (Staggs) Robinson, Jr., who preceded him in death.
A lifelong resident of Grant County, David graduated from Marion High School in 1965 and was an avid Giants fan. He loved sports of all kinds, including football, basketball, and baseball, and he coached the local girls’ softball team. David never met a stranger and loved meeting new friends.
He will be missed by his brother, Robert (Linda) Robinson; nephew, Adam (Shelley) Robinson; niece, Tracy (fiancé, Michael Shively) Petro; nephews, Jeff and Jeremy Weller; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and 2 great-great-nieces.
Services and burial for David will be at Gardens of Memory in Marion at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating.
