David Herman Strong, 62, was called home on Wednesday March 23, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital on 86th St. in Indianapolis.
He was born on August 23, 1953 in Kokomo Indiana. He was the son of Dewey H. (Tom) and Mary K. Strong. He was a member of the Peru Glad Tidings Assemblies of God for the last 7 years. He loved the Lord first and for most, and he would argue with anyone over Him – even the Pastor if he thought the Pastor was wrong according to David. He married Marsha K. McClain on May 9, 2001.
Survivors include 6 children and 4 step children. Ruby Kay Peters and husband Philip, Portage; Christopher and fiancé Renee LaZarrus, California; Dewey and wife Barb, Peru; Jay and wife Mikayla, Peru; Sarah 19 Kokomo; and David 18, Peru. His step*children are Kathryn Staley and husband Eric, Indianapolis; Chrystal Sprang and husband Mike, Michigan; Joseph Brock, Peru and wife Sally of Lakeland FI, and Gary Brock, Winter Haven Fl. Other survivors include sister Karen Poe and brother Jim Strong, and 14 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, and one great grand baby on the way. One grandson preceded him in death.
Services will be held on Thursday March 31, 2016 at Glad Tidings, 388 W. 7th St. Peru with viewing from 1p-5p and funeral service following at 5p with Pastor Paul Colyer officiating. Burial will be Friday 11a at Salem Cemetery, with Pastor Bryan Maggart officiating.
