David E. Winkelman, 80, Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday August 9, 2016, at his residence.
Mr. Winkelman was born February 2, 1936, in Huntington, IN, to Ottomar and Mildred (Peting) Winkelman. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Winkelman married Joyce Bippus on November 17, 1956. She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.

Mr. Winkelman graduated from Huntington High School in 1954. He was an Engineer and Conductor for the Tippecanoe Rail Road formerly Erie Lackawanna /Conrail Railroad. Mr. Winkelman was a life-long resident of Huntington for 80 years.

Along with his wife he is survived by five sons, Scott (Nina) Winkelman, Stevens Point, WI, Timothy (Mary) Winkelman, Stevens Point, WI, Jonathan (Rachel Gross) Winkelman, Chicago, IL, Jeremie Winkelman, Huntington, IN, and Jared Winkelman, New Brunswick, NJ; three daughters, Julie (Eric) Frizzi, Bonita Springs, FL, Jodi (Travis) Monsey, Roanoke, IN and Jennifer (James) Scheiber, Roanoke, IN. He is also survived by four brothers, Richard (Jane) Winkelman, Huntington, IN and Paul (Johnye) Winkelman, Huntington, IN, Carl (Patricia) Winkelman, Custer, WI. Daniel (Sandy) Winkelman, Stevens Point, WI; and three sisters, Susie (Paul) Kellam, Judith (Roger) Turgeson, and Doris Laughlin, all of Huntington, IN.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by three sons Mathew Winkelman, Mark Winkelman, Joel Winkelman; and one brother, John Winkelman.

A private family service was held Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, IN.
