David A. Ray, 44 of Roanoke passed away on July 25, 2016 in an automobile accident in Chicago. David was a 1990 graduate of Huntington North High School. He had worked for Sodexo at Huntington University for 16 years as the head chef. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Huntington and was a devout Christian. He enjoyed Star Trek and anything Sci-Fi. He loved spending time with his family.

David was born on September 26, 1971 in Huntington, the son of Norbin and Beryl (Gregory) Ray.

He was united in marriage to Christy Holley on June 12, 1993 in Auburn. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include three sons: Sam Ray, Zachary Ray, Noah Ray all of Roanoke; his mother: Beryl Ray of Huntington; a brother: Ron (Carolyn) Ray of Huntington; three sisters: Patricia (Billy) Hill of Delight, ARK; Rebecca (Douglas) Cox of Roanoke; Amy (Michael) Maher of Hawaii; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Curtis and Eileen Holley of Laotto, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother: Tom Ray.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Steve Durrwachter officiating.

Interment will be at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made out to Ray Children College Fund or to donor’s choice of charity both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
