Danny Ray Kaufman (54), Peru, was called home to glory Thursday August 4th, 2016, at Dukes Memorial Hospital. He was born January 2nd 1962, in Peru to the late Raymond “Ray” Kaufman and. Dian (Hoeppner) Wagner. He married Carolyn (Engel) Kaufman on September 1, 1984 and she survives. They were happily married for 31 years.

Dan graduated from Maconaquah High School in 1980. He was a hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He was a machinist at many different companies – most recently Specialty Tool & Die (Kokomo). Dan attended College Corner Brethren Church where he felt like he was at a church that was good for him and Carolyn. Dan loved Harley-Davidson Motorcycles and it was a rare occasion to see him without a Harley shirt on. Dan loved his family and enjoyed spending time around the campfire, cooking meals and enjoying the weekend. Dan poured his love and time into his daughters and he especially loved being Papaw to his granddaughter Natalie.

Surviving along with his wife, Carolyn are two daughters Sara (Tyler) Murphy, Logansport IN and Kayde (Travis) Sager Peru, IN. Granddaughter Natalie Sager. Parents Jim and Dian Wagner. He also is survived by three brothers and two sisters: Kris (Robb) Thiel, Rennselear, Jim (Linda) Kaufman, Peru, Steve (Lisa) Wagner, Peru, Tom (Suzy) Wagner, Peru, and Bridget (Scott) Butler, Denver. Father-in-law John Engel. As well as many nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his father Raymond “Ray” Kaufman and his mother-in-law Jayne Engel.

A service celebrating Dan’s life will be held 10 A.M. Tuesday August 9th at College Corner Brethren Church, Wabash County, IN (8996 S 500 W, Wabash, IN) with Pastor Billy Hesketh officiating. Burial will follow in Christner Cemetery Waupecong, IN (CR. 1400 S at 200E) Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Monday at College Corner Brethren Church.
