Daniel Scott Reynolds, 61, Marion, died in his Marion home on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He was born in Marion to Thomas Arthur “Todd” and Betty Ann (Montgomery) Reynolds. In July 2010, Daniel married Donna Kay Pelfrey, and she survives.

Daniel was a 1973 graduate of Byron High School. He was a commercial manager at Auto Zone in Marion and was also a mechanic and actively involved in auto painting and body work. He was a member of American Legion Post 95, Grant County Izaak Walton League Jalapa, and The Freedom Riders Chapter 4.

Racing was a big part of Daniel’s life. He built race cars and drove at Rockford Speedway, winning the track championship in 1984. Some of the race cars he built were for Dana and Patti Mecum, who now own Mecum Car Auctions.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Jason Reynolds, Litchfield, Arizona; step-children, Cynthia Sherman, Marion, William Pearson II, Fort Wayne, and Ricky (Starla) Pearson, Rome, Georgia; grandchildren, Skylar Reynolds, Watertown, Wisconsin, and Aiden, Mason, and Devan Reynolds, all from Litchfield; 8 step-grandchildren; half-sisters, Kelly and Kimberly Reynolds, both from Beloit, Wisconsin; and brother, Thomas (Marie) Reynolds, MI WUK Village, California.

His father, infant sister, and grandparents preceded him in death.

Family and friends may call from 12-1 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion. Services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeffrey Slater officiating.
