Daniel L. Skeens, 80, Marion, passed away at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center in Marion. He was born in Jonesboro, Indiana, on February 12, 1938, to the late Daniel and Nellie (Lewis) Skeens. In January of 1960, Daniel married Mary A. Skeens, and she preceded him in death on July 20, 2015.
Daniel worked at Mechanics Laundry. He was a real outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and riding his bicycle.
He is survived by his children, Doug Skeens, Gas City, Dianna L. (John) Cunningham, Marion, and Melissa (Charles) Miller, Michigan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Nellie Morris, Gas City.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Minch.
The family will receive visitors from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. with Daniel’s funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
