Curtis E. Beam, 91, of Peru, passed away at 5:50 AM, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Blair Ridge Health Campus. He was born in Miami County, IN on August 16, 1925, the son of Jesse W. and Echo Anderson Beam. Curt married Thelma Otiker on March 14, 1948 and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2009.
Curt was a member of the New Life Methodist Church and was employed as a millwright at Chrysler Corporation retiring in 1990. He was also a Miami County Farmer and a former member of the Peru Moose Lodge and the Peru Maennerchor.
Surviving is a son Richard Beam and his wife Debra of Peru, daughters Rita Rayburn and her husband Dennis of Rochester and Ruth Frazier of Peru, a sister Vernice Roberts of Mesquie, UT; grandchildren Michael (Christi) Beam, Matthew (Dawn) Beam, Mark (Dawn) Beam, Lisa Rayburn and Brandy (Steve) Roesler and great grandchildren Richard James Beam, Curtis Hunter Beam, Andeline Elizabeth Beam, Noah Austin Beam, Taylor Roesler, Isaac Beam, Nathan Roesler, Logan Harmon, Raven (Evan) Acuilar.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Thelma, a son-in-law Richard Frazier and two sisters Mary Harvey and Doris Beam.
A service celebrating the life of Curtis E. Beam will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, April 10, 2017 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Pastor John Meunier officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, IN. Family and friends will gather from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
