Crystal Maxine Calobrace, 93, Marion, received her eternal reward at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. She was born in Marion to Sylvester Cleo and Drucilla (Murphy) Johnson. She married S. Joseph Calobrace on December 6, 1940, and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1998.

Crystal was a graduate of Marion High School and worked for 37 years as a scheduler at Foster-Forbes. Afterwards, she went on to work for George’s Flowers in Gas City. Following the passing of her husband, Crystal kept herself busy by working at Elder-Beerman until she decided to retire again at the age of 87. She enjoyed floral arranging, playing Euchre at the Senior Center, and painting ceramics. Crystal will also be known for how much she loved to cook and bake, especially candies and cookies. She was a member of Christland United Methodist Church.

She will be missed dearly by her daughter, Nancy Myers, Hendersonville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) King, Michelle (Greg) White, Dr. Bradley (Ricardo) Calobrace, Sue Ann (Greg) Edmonds, Jennifer M. (Randy) Hoffman, Jimmy Brett Calobrace, Charles (Jeanelle) Calobrace, and Samuel R. Calobrace; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved caregiver, Traci Brewer.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; son-in-law, Bill Myers; sons, Michael and Nick Calobrace; sister, Nancy Rogers; and brothers, Dale and Allen Johnson.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Christland United Methodist Church, 721 E. Charles St., Marion, IN.

Crystal’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the church with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
