Colleen K. Olsen, age 84, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Monday August 14, 2017 at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida.
Colleen graduated from Ball State University with a BA in English literature. A long-time resident of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, she worked as an executive secretary to the president of Kenyon College, in Gambier, retiring in 1995. She and her husband were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Vernon, and Colleen was variously a member of the Mt. Vernon garden club, and the local National Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association, and American Heart Association chapters.
Colleen was born October 13, 1934, in Huntington, the daughter and only child of Sylvester and Irene (Sands)Â Kreisher. On August 3, 1952, she wed her beloved husband, David E. Olsen, who she met at Ball State University, in Huntington. He passed away August 24, 2004.
She is survived by a son Steven (Marisol) Olsen of Von Ormy, Texas, and their three daughters: Mia, Isabelle and Cameron, as well as a daughter Cathleen (Gregory) Behrends of Columbus, Ohio.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, from 1-3 pm at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel preceding the 3:00 pm graveside service at Mt Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
