Clyde enlisted in the Army at age 19. He served honorably in the Korean War as a mortarman from 1950-1951. He worked for Rohr Aircraft Corporation for 30 years as a machinist and was part of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He retired from Rohr in 1982. He worked at a newspaper printing company following his retirement. Clyde was also a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Peru serving faithfully as a deacon, usher and board member.

Clyde practiced what he preached and did not live a life of contradiction. The greatest legacy he left for his family and friends was that of being a great example of a Godly man. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was not ashamed to share this with anybody willing to listen. It was exceedingly important to him that his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all know the Lord as he did.

Clyde was quite the story teller. He always had an amazing story about what is was like growing up in the 30’s and 40’s or something he would remember about the Korean War. Watching him tell a funny story was a sight to see, especially, when he started laughing so hard he couldn’t finish the ending. He loved to laugh and spend time with his loved ones.
