Clarence P. Royse, 89, Cambridge City, Indiana, died at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016, in the Methodist Hospital ER, Indianapolis. He was born in Ringos Mills, Kentucky, to the late James and Eva Royse and was a resident of Jonesboro for 50+ years. He married Mary V. Wilson on November 22, 1947, and she died on June 13, 2008.

Clarence was employed with Essex Wire for 38 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Grace Community Church. Clarence was also very active with the Civil Defense and was on duty at the Mississinewa basketball games and during the 1965 Tornado.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Garry) Cornett, Cambridge City; son, Steve Royse, Brookston; grandchildren, Tyler, Catherine, Jeff (Jenny), Andy (Heidi), Joshua (Alyse), and Jenny (Mitch); great-grandchildren, Houston, Lucian, Hunter, Journey, Justin, Jayden, Jonah, Julia, Joel, Ethan, Audra, and little Roo; and great-great-grandson, Cayson. Clarence is also survived by his brothers, Junior, Emerson, and Wayne; and sisters, Evelyn and Carolyn.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by a daughter, Teri Wright; siblings, Fred, Thelma, Nettie, Alma, and an infant brother.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Fairmount.
