Christine Morton, 51, of Andrews, IN, passed away on Monday April 11, 2016, at 9:23 a.m. at her residence.
Christine was born on May 5, 1964, in Huntington, IN, to Neil and Barbara (Hauenstein) Derr. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives and resides in Fort Wayne, IN. Christine married Michael Morton on June 10, 1989, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Huntington, IN. He survives and resides in Andrews, IN.
Christine was a 1982 graduate of Huntington North High School and a 1986 graduate of Purdue University. She was a school teacher at St. Peter Lutheran School, Huntington, IN. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Waynedale, IN.
Along with her husband, Michael, and mother, Barbara she is survived by one son, Adam (Jennifer) Morton; and one daughter, Cassandra (Brent) Senesac, both of Phoenix, AR. She is also survived by two brothers, Jeffrey (Barbara) Derr, Huntington, IN, Jon (Dawn) Derr, Fort Wayne, IN; one sister, Angie (Matt) Brubaker, Huntington, IN; and 3 grandchildren, Jack Senesac, Zoe Senesac, and Chance Morton.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Additional calling hours will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Huntington, IN, on Friday, April 15, 2016.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 648 North LaFontaine Street, Huntington, IN 46750, with Rev. Dennis McFadden officiating.
Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN.
