Christine Howard, 87, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 10:45 pm, Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, Indiana. She was born September 17, 1928, in Fountaintown, North Carolina, to Raleigh and Nellie (Brown) Fountain.
Christine was a 1945 graduate of Chinquapin High School in Chinquapin North Carolina. She lived in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 1955-1995, where she worked as a bank teller at Peoples Bank and Trust. She has lived at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester since December 1995.
She is survived by two children, Jenine Howard of Indianapolis and Aaron (Pam) Howard of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter-in-law Martina Bingley of Australia; grandson Adam (Susan Sons) Nuwer of Bloomington, Indiana; two brothers, Elton (Elvis) Fountain and Tim Fountain, both of Fountaintown; and two sisters, Natalie Brock of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Patricia (Joe) Edwards of Beulaville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Bessie (Lanier) Fountain, and son Shane Howard.
Per Christine’s request there will be no services. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester.
