Charlotte E. Wilson

Charlotte E. Wilson, 94, North Manchester, IN passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, IN.  She was born August 14, 1923 in York, PA to Charles D. & Anna L. (McCord) Steinmeier.  On April 22, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN she married Robert E. Wilson.  He passed away November 25, 1990.  She was a resident of Indianapolis, In from 1930 – 1945. She graduated from Southport High School in 1941. She was employed at H. P. Wasson’s in Indianapolis from 1941 – 1943, and Eli Lilly from 1943 – 1945. She was a North Manchester resident since 1947. she was employed at Snyder’s IGA in North Manchester from 1948 – 1971, Peabody Retirement Community from 1971 – 1975, Gaerte Fertilizer from 1975 – 1992, Oppenheim Department Store from 1994 – 2003, and Crystal Flash from 2000 – 2003.  She was a woman that spoke her mind. Charlotte attended Zion Lutheran Church, North Manchester, IN.  She is survived by her son, Lt. Col. Dennis E. (Jody) Wilson, Claypool, IN; daughter, Julie E. Gaerte, North Manchester, IN; cousin, James R. Hardin, Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Kristian Gaerte, Zsanelle (Tim) Gaerte Collins, Ashley Gaerte, Annon (Megan) Gaerte, Sacha (Jon) Gaerte Sare, Farron (Amelia) Gaerte and Jennen Gaerte; ten great grandchildren with one on the way and two great great grandchildren.  One sister, Geneva A. Trager, is deceased.  Family & Friends may call Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN and one hour prior to services.  Services Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN.  Pastor J. P. Freeman will officiate.  Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.  For those who wish to honor the memory of Charlotte Wilson, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Mizpah Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., 407 W. Berry Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
