Charlie J Walker, Jr. 77 of Fairmount died peacefully Friday December 29, 2017 at his home. Junior as he was often referred to was born November 9, 1940 at Cutler, Indiana to the late Charlie J. and Mary (Katherine) Parman.
Junior married Ruth E. Pegg June 3, 1960 at Delphi, Indiana, she survives. An avid horseman, he enjoyed going to horse shows all around the country. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms and camping. He was diagnosed 17 years ago with Lou Gehrig’s Disease but he never allowed that to stop him from doing things that was important to him. He attended Westview Wesleyan Church, Jonesboro, Indiana and retired in 2004 from the Marion General Motors Plant after 42 years of service.
Junior is survived by his wife of 57 years, daughter; Terren (Loren) Little, Upland, IN sons; Kim Walker, Fairmount, IN and Charles E. “Chuck’ (Lynette) Walker, Upland, IN.
Siblings; Larry (Ruth) Walker, Monticello, IN Elizabeth “Sis” Pottenger, Kokomo, IN , Melvin (Norma) Walker, Camden, TN John (Shirley) Walker, Kokomo, IN Toni Martin, Lafayette, IN. Grandchildren; Adam, James, and Amanda Burkholder, Lindsey and Kelsey Walker, Joshua Walker, Jacob (Makinna) Little, Joseph Little, and Kayla (Derrick) Morgan. Great-Grandchildren: Sterling, Bentley, Baxton, Oliver, Jayda, Cody, Jessie, and Dedria.
Junior was preceded in death by brother, Dean Walker and sister, Helen Butcher.
Funeral services for Junior will be 10:00 AM Friday January 5, 2018 at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fairmount Chapel, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN Interment will follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 PM Thursday January 4, 2018.
Memorial contributions are to ALS Association or Westview Wesleyan Church in care of the funeral home.
