Chuck was born in Marion, Indiana on September 11, 1937 to the late Hiram and Elfie (Mark) Newell.

He passed away in his Converse home on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Chuck graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1965. He attended college at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Delta fraternity. He became a chemical and brake lining engineer with Firestone Royal Industries. During his time with them, he traveled frequently with his job. Chuck really enjoyed his trips to Germany and Canada for business. He also had worked at World Bestos in New Castle and Royal Brake Products later renamed Certified Brakes in Danville, KY. His last job was at Bendix in Green Island, New York, where he retired. Chuck was a member of the Converse Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne.

He is survived by his sister Jane Breeden, Independence, KY two nephews: Adam Mark (Rachel) Breeden, Morning View, KY; Aaron Wendell Breeden, McDonugh, GA.

Friends may visit on Friday, July 29, 2016, 12 noon to 2pm at the Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 East Marion Street, Converse, Indiana.

His funeral and Masonic Rites will follow visitation at 2pm with Ron Forsythe officiating.

Burial will be in the Converse Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Converse Volunteer Fire Department, 707 East Marion Street, Converse, IN 46919.

Arrangements were entrusted to Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Homes, Larrison-Martin Chapel, 308 East Marion Street, Converse, Indiana.
