Carolyn D. Nelson, 73, Marion, died at 11:10 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016, in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born in Marion, IN, to the late Noah Francis and Mary Belle (Lines) Nelson.
Carolyn retired as a housekeeper at Bradner Village Health Care, Marion, and she previously worked at Caylor-Nickel Clinic and Hospital, Bluffton. Carolyn was a member of Bethel Worship Center. She enjoyed going to church and dearly loved her family.
Carolyn is survived by sisters, Dorothy Velasquez, Patsy (Roy) Floyd, Kokomo, Betty Cruz, Hawaii, Ruby Shafer, Marion, Laverna (Charles) Smith, Montpelier; brother, Lester Nelson, Fairmount; spiritual daughter, Thersa Williams, Marion; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Isenhour, Helen Timmons, Mary Nelson, and Loretta Coleman; brothers, Noah Laverne Nelson and James H. Nelson; half-sister, Juanita Frazier; and half-brother, Francis Nelson.
A funeral service for Carolyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN, with Lucas Binkerd officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12-1:00 p.m., prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
