Carl Lee Scarlett, 40, Peru, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.
Born May 7, 1975, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of James Douglas and Irma Viola Barnes Scarlett. On June 3, 2004, in Peru, Indiana, he was married to the former Agnes Dee Murdock, and she survives.
He was a 1993 graduate of Peru High School.
Survivors include four step-children, Jennifer McKercher, Minnesota; Michael Sandlin and wife Destiny, Minnesota; Mark Sandlin and wife Crista, Scott Co, IN; and Jessie Sandlin, Peru; siblings, Vicki Williams, Peru; Burt Scarlett and wife Krystal, Peru; Kathy Walker and husband Junior, Peru; Angie Folden and husband Jim, Princeton, West Virginia; twin sister, Karla Ortega and husband Guadalupe, Akron; Cindy Norris and husband John, Hartford City, IN; Rick Creager and wife Becky, Elkhart; five grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana. Burial will follow in Gaerte Cemetery, Macy. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
