Carl J. Strike, 76, North Manchester, IN died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in Parkview Wabash Hospital, Wabash, IN. He was born October 5, 1940 in Franklin County, PA to Ray L. & Myrte M. (Garber) Strike. He graduated from Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg, PA in 1958. On January 15, 1961 he married Esther J. Brovont. He was a retired farmer and also worked 23 years at Manchester University, North Manchester, IN. Carl was a member of Old German Baptist Brethren Church, North Manchester, IN where he was an Elder. He is survived by his wife, Esther Strike, North Manchester, IN; sons, Leroy R. (Lorna) Strike, Boones Mill, VA and Samuel C. Strike, North Manchester, IN; daughters, Mary Louise (Floyd) Bowman, North Manchester, IN and Ruth E. (Dan) Winger, North Manchester, IN; brothers, Lloyd A. (Mary Ruth) Strike, Eaton, OH and Eldon R. (Jane) Strike, Boones Mill, VA; sister, Elsie Mae (Keith) Martin, Elkhart, IN; brother-in-law, Marlin Spurrier, North Manchester, IN; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One sister, Ada Catherine Spurrier, is deceased.
