Bruce D. Simon

Bruce D. Simon, 53, Gas City, left this world too soon with his brother, Douglas R. Simon, on Saturday, November 18, 2017. He was born in Marion on June 5, 1964, to Franklin A. and Rose M. (McCoy) Simon.

Bruce was a 1982 graduate of Mississinewa High School. He was self-employed for most of his life and specialized in floor covering installation. He had also previously worked at Weaver Popcorn for a few years.

Fishing anywhere was Bruce’s happy place. He was an avid fisherman and went on several fishing trips with his father-in-law over the years. He also enjoyed playing pool. The greatest joy in his life, though, was spending time with his family and friends, laughing and having fun with everyone.

He will be missed by his mother, Rose Simon; children, Cory C. Simon, Gas City, and Sara E. (Wesley Herrera) Simon, Marion; sister, Peggy M. Sapp, Gas City; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and several friends in the community.

Preceding him in death was his father, Franklin A. Simon; father-in-law, Richard Faunce; siblings, Rick, Polly, and Douglas; nephews, Devyn Simon and Colton Staggs; brother-in-law, David Thompson; and his dog, Babe.

The family will have a memorial service for Bruce at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
