Bonnie S. Watkins, 65, Swayzee, went to be with the Lord at 7:05 a.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center. She was born in Grant County to the late Robert and Gladys (Wright) Dale.
Bonnie was a graduate of Oak Hill High School and worked as a lab tech at Dr. Tavel in Kokomo. She was a collector of Barbie dolls and Shirley Temple movies. Bonnie especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a member of Church of Christ in Normal.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Valerie) Watkins, Converse; granddaughters, Brittany Watkins and Samantha Watkins, both from Sweetser; great-granddaughter, Amber Lysell, Sweetser; siblings, Karen Cain, Marion, Donald Dale, Marion, Joyce (Robert) Shaw-Mather, Swayzee, Ronald (Linda) Dale, Wabash, and Daniel Dale, Swayzee; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Kimberly Watkins; and brothers, William and Robert Dale.
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN. Services to celebrate Bonnie’s life will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rich Hardcastle officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery.
