Bobby A. Moton

Bobby was born on April 9, 1935 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He peacefully passed away at 10:12am on February 18, 2016 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

After graduating from high school Bobby enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served honorably and retired after 20 years of service. While serving he continued his education and was a Master Instructor. In the early 1990’s Bobby and his wife, Soyong, moved to Marion. He worked for the VA Northern Indiana Healthcare Systems as a laundry manager and then became the director of the Marion National Cemetery, the job he dearly loved and dedicated himself to and eventually retired from in 2005.

Bobby married Soyong Choi on October 11, 1986. She survives in their Marion home. Together they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Soyong enjoyed the many gourmet meals Bobby lovingly prepared for their family and friends. Bobby was an accomplished cook and loved all the goodness of food especially lobster and steak. Bobby will be missed for his gentle, loving heart, his ability to make everyone feel special and spoiled, his playfulness and sense of humor.

Additional survivors include his children, Bobby Moton and David Moton, both of Denver; Stephen (fiance, Michelle), Moton, Rebecca (Franklin) Williams, both of Marion; Lewis (Carol) Costley, Michigan; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and his only brother.
