Bobbie A. Wells, 70, Marion, was surrounded by her family and friends when she went to be with the Lord in her home at 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. She was born in Marion to Joseph H. and B. Joann (Miller) Sims and married James Wells on April 27, 1997. They shared 8 years together until he passed away on December 12, 2005.

Bobbie received her Master’s Degree in Science and served as a nurse practitioner throughout her career. She began her career at Marion General Hospital before going to Preferred Family Physicians in Dunkirk and then to Marion’s VA Medical Center. She was a member of American Nursing Association and Indiana Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Bobbie also held memberships with Eastern Star, Quilters Hall of Fame, and Grace Community Church.

Some of her favorite hobbies included quilting, scrapbooking, shopping, reading, and traveling. Her greatest achievements in life, however, were her children, her education, and her trip to the Holy Land where she was baptized in the Jordan River.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her mother, B. Joann Sims; children, Todd (Kristy) Elliott, Fayetteville, Tennessee, Michele (Brian Oaks) Slain, Kokomo, and Jared (Connie) Elliott, Upland; step-daughter, Karen Wells, Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren, Sarah (Paul) Armstrong, Heath (Ashley) Slain, Jacob (Emily Couch) Elliott, Donovan Elliott, and Luke Elliott; step-grandchildren, Chad Wells, Josh Curtis, Lauren Curtis, Jordan (Brooke) McKee, and Addyson Kendall; great-grandchildren, Waylon Grant Armstrong, Rowinn Avery Slain, and Zaidee Grace McKee; sister, Bonnie Morrison, Swayzee; special friends, Mary Peters, Theresa Doyle, and Nancy Rudy; numerous cherished nieces and nephews; and her dog, Fanci, and Persian cat, Felix.

Preceding her in death were her dad, Joseph H. Sims; brother-in-law, Doug Morrison; and step-son, Mark Wells.

Visitation and service will be private per Bobbie’s request. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City.
