Billy L. Cox, 62, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 2:03 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion. He was born in Ripley, Mississippi, on May 14, 1955, to the late Charles and Frances (Carter) Cox.
Billy worked in Production at RCA in Marion and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist under the late Rev. Clarence Faulkner. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his friends. He also loved watching sports, especially baseball.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacie Rodgers; sons, Billy Cox, II, Marion, and Micah Atkinson, Gas City; siblings, Ruby (Otis) Dodson, Charlie Cox, Larry Cox, and Joan Cox, all from Marion, and Amy Cox, Tillison Cox, and William Cox, all from Memphis, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Taylor Brown, Stacia Tyson, Leander Rodgers, Jr., Billy Cox, III, Lebron Collier, and Jordyn and Christian Atkinson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlotte Cox and Mary Smith; brother, Thomas Cox; and son-in-law, Leander Rodgers, Sr..
The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN.
Services to celebrate Billy’s life will begin immediately at 12 noon with Pastor Stanford Bolden officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
