Bill D. Hoggard, 87, Marion, died at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Wesleyan Health Care Center in Marion.

A life well-lived and a man well-loved, Bill was born on July 14, 1930, in Grange, Arkansas, to the late Orville and Estella (McLeod) Hoggard. He recently celebrated his 87th birthday at a party with friends and family. Marion was his home for the last 50 years, and he had several businesses in those years. In retirement, Bill spent time fishing and camping in Linton, and what a great fisherman he was. He never knew a stranger and was always ready to give a hand or a buck to someone in need.

Left behind to cherish his memory are children, Deborah (Randy) Black, Marion, Billy R. “Randy” (Cathy) Hoggard, Noblesville, Rose Ball, Noblesville, and Rick Hoggard, Noblesville; grandchildren, Jeremy (Angie) Sivis, Tessa Sivis, Justin Hoggard, Jarod Hoggard, and Cate (Blake) Hoppes; and great-grandchildren, Abbey Sivis, Maylen Bowen, and Ethan Hoggard. Also surviving is his love and companion of 30 years, Joyce Randolph, and her children, Rick (Theresa) Randolph, Linda Brown, and Brenda (Brian) Maschino; and brothers, L.D. Hoggard, Cave City, Arkansas, and Mannie Gilbert, Arkansas.

In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were sister, Genice Koonce, and brother, Walter H. Gilbert.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A Masonic service will take place at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017, prior to the funeral service at 1 p.m. Rev. Phil Harris will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.
