Betty R. (Magers) Whitehead, 83 formerly of Fairmount, IN died Monday, February 1. 2016 at Wesleyan Health Care where she had been a resident for 3 years.

She was born November 9, 1932 in Bedford, Indiana the daughter of the late Charles Magers and the late Emma (Mosley) Magers. She married Aron Whitehead on June 23, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2002. She graduated from Indiana Business College with a certificate in Business in 1970. In 1981 she received her LPN Certificate from Ivy Tech. Betty was self-employed as an LPN.

She was a member of the Prairie View Ladies Group, Secret Sisters at Former Community Chapel Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting. Betty loved the Lord and cherished her time reading the Bible.

She is survived by her

Two Daughters:Linda Cantrell of Marion, IN and Peggy (John) Couchman of Sedalia, Mo.

Son; Mark Whitehead of Jonesboro, IN.

Thirteen grandchildren

Tye Andrews, Jennifer (Troy) Ayala, Brian (Melissa) Whitehead and Nathan Whitehead

Freedom (Ernest) Esser, Marcus Coppock, John (Darlene) Couchman,Mark II, Michael, Aaron, Rocky and Corey Whitehead

Eighteen great-grandchildren:

Amanda (Greg) Smith, Tabatha, Tyler & Ian Andrews,

Oliva, Aiden & Isaac Ayala, Alex, Abby and Aron Esser,

Johna, Jake and Brian Couchman, Chase,

Roslyn, Payton & Blake Whitehead & Keaton Whitehead

One Great Great Granddaughter Alijah Smith

Special Nieces Sharyn (James) Harrison and Lynnie (Gary) Ellis, Colleen Longbreak and Polly Jo Clark

She was preceded in death by 3 sons; Michael, Paul David, and Richard Whitehead. One granddaughter Marissa Whitehead, and 13 siblings.

Arrangements are being handled by Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN where Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2016. Funeral Service is at 1PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Funeral Home with Joe Shaver officiating. Interment will follow at Estates of Serenity in Marion, IN.
