Betty Louise Stafford Reynolds, 92, of Sarasota, Florida died Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Sarasota.  She was born May 25, 1924 in Tipton, Indiana to William E. and Mary Gladys Stafford.

 

Betty married Lewis F. Reynolds at her parent’s home in Tipton County on June 25, 1944; he died August 18, 1983.  She raised her family in Tipton County, and attended the Tipton Church of Christ.  Betty worked as a cook at the Hoosier Family Café, a restaurant owned by her husband’s family.

 

She is survived by five daughters, Sue Carol Burton of Tipton, Shirley (James) Hurd of Sarasota, Martha L. Jones of Fort Worth, Texas, Kathy Reynolds of Michigantown, Indiana and Alice (Harlow) Stephenson of Roann, Indiana; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren, and her sister Martha Smith of Tipton.  She was also preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and one granddaughter.

 

There will be a memorial service at 11:00 am Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Roann United Methodist Church, with Pastor Wayne Balmer officiating.  Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia, Indiana.  Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Roann.
