Betty LaVaughn Treska, 93, of rural Lagro, Indiana, died at 3:07 am, Monday, January 30, 2017 at Parkview Wabash Hospital. She was born November 6, 1923 in Bippus, Indiana to Henry and Lena (Copeland) Gressley.
Betty was a 1943 graduate of Chippewa High School. She married George Delbert Treska in Plymouth, Indiana, on October 27, 1949; he died December 9, 1998. She worked 28 years at DataView and 18 years at B.Walter, both of Wabash. She was a member of the Lagro Community Church, Wabash County Cancer Society, and volunteered at Autumn Ridge Healthcare until October of 2016. She enjoyed garage sales and her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruthann Richwine of Dunedin, Florida, three grandchildren, Jennifer Horn of Wabash, Gary (Kimberly) Treska of Lagro, and Amanda Jo Treska of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Whittney Horn of Wabash, and Victor, Paul, and Jon Treska, all of Lagro; her sister, Bernice M. Simpson Meek of Wabash; and her brother, Ival L. Gressley of Peru, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary G. Treska; two brothers, Sherman and Minor Gressley; and her grandson, Michael Richwine.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11:00 am, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash with David Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 9-11 am, Saturday, before the service at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Wabash County Cancer Society.
