Betty I. (Trout) Felton, 94, died Saturday afternoon, December 17, 2016, in University Nursing Center, Upland. She was born in Upland, the daughter of the late Boyce and Gladys (Hamilton) Trout.
She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1940.
On November 22, 1941, Betty married Harry “Red” Felton, in Liberty Center, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2003.
Mrs. Felton, who was Upland’s oldest living resident, was formerly employed at Taylor University where she was the Lead Housekeeper. She was a member of the Upland Lions Club, Upland Senior Citizen’s Center, Upland Tri-Dice Club, and Upland United Methodist Church. She was also formerly a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Upland.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Sue) Felton, Upland; a daughter, Linda Carter, Upland; two grandchildren, Julie (Joe) Hammond, Fishers, and Troy Felton, Indianapolis; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Carl, Virgil, Sam, Omal, Mary, Loreena, and Barbara, and a granddaughter, Sherrill Huffer.
