Barbara M. Armstrong-Carter, 83 of Huntington passed away at 4:15 am on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Millers Merry Manor. Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Huntington high school. She worked as a secretary at Horcemann elementary for several years. Barbara was involved in the Huntington PTA and the Child Conservation Club. She was also a member of the bridge club. She loved to travel and her life revolved around her family. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Barbara was born on August 19, 1933 in Huntington, the daughter of Harley and Ester (May) Webber
She was united in Marriage to Rex Armstrong on June 10, 1951 in Huntington. He preceded her in death in April of 1998. She was then united in marriage to Robert ” Bob” Carter on October 3, 1998. Her husband survives.
Additional survivors include a son: Todd ( Beth) Armstrong of Huntington; three daughters: Jenny (Von) Obenour of Huntington, Amy Vickery of Huntington, and Kelly ( Eric) Goodman of Huntington; three step daughters: Cheryl (Mike) Emerson of Valparaiso, Jill ( Sam) Brown of Huntington, and Amy (Tom) Spahr of Huntington; one brother: Marvin (June) Webber of Raymond, Washington; 9 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 3 step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Rex Armstrong, a Step daughter Lynn Carter, and a step great granddaughter Charlotte Pyper
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 30, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 30, 2016 at 5:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.
Interment will take place at a later date.
