Barbara “Barb” A. Carson, 83, Marion, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, at 2:12 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center in Marion. She was a lifelong resident of Marion, born to O. Edward and Naomi (Walker) Dennison. Barb married Jack Carson, and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1991.
Barb was a homemaker and spent her life serving her family and her church at Lincoln Boulevard Church of the Nazarene. She was known for collecting Precious Moments and baking countless pies, cakes, and cookies. Barb was loved by all and was called “Grandma Honey”. She shared her love of Jesus with everyone.
She is survived by her children, Roxie (Bryon) Hobbs, Converse, Vicki (Steve) Conder, Pompano Beach, Florida, and Patti (Marvin) Thrasher, Ames, Iowa; brothers, Foster (Marilyn) Dennison, Huntington, and Phil (Peggy Gibson) Dennison, Pulaski, Tennessee; sister, Janet (Robert) Mathias, Converse; grandchildren, Stephanie (Rich) Murray, Heidi (Nick) Rider, and Caleb (Mary) Hobbs; great-grandchildren, Carson (Dion) Leininger, Kayleigh, Jessica, Alex, Tori, Jackson, Elizabeth, Deliah, and Savannah; and great-great-grandchildren, Abram and Roman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Joyce Harris, and brothers, Eddie and Melvin Dennison.
The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Services to celebrate Barb’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Ossenbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
