Anna Jean Johnson, 86, Swayzee, died at 1:05 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. She was born in Marion, IN, to the late Ernest Ray and Dea Mae (Hummel) Warnock. On June 12, 1948, Anna married Gene R. Johnson, and they shared 61 years together until his death on May 3, 2010.
Anna was a 1947 graduate of Swayzee High School. She was a homemaker and was a member of both Swayzee Eastern Star and Hostess House. She loved to knit and was a huge fan of playing cards.
Survivors include her children, Jill Dionne Cripe, Fort Wayne, Jan Marie (Roger) Warner, Fort Wayne, and Mark Allen (Jill) Johnson, Swayzee; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 8 nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were brother, Lealand Warnock; step-father, Claude Ancil; mother-in-law, Janet Young Johnson-Miller; father-in-law, Earl R. Johnson; step-father-in-law, James Miller; brother- and sister-in-law, Herbert (Silvia) Warnock; sister-in-law, Monea Johnson-Wolverton; and brother-in-law, Bob (Birthana) Johnson.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at the funeral home with Chaplain Nanci Rosinski officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee.
