Anna Elizabeth Miller

Anna Elizabeth Miller, 94, went to meet Jesus face to face, as she often spoke of wanting to do, on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was born on the family farm outside of Gas City on October 24, 1922, to August and Clara D. (Hasselbring) Miller. The youngest child of seven, Anna attended the one-room school house about a mile from her home, and she graduated from Gas City High School. She worked at the Kroger grocery store (1939-1941) and Owens-Illinois (1944-1951) to pay her way to graduate from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, in 1952. She began working for Bible Club Movement International in November of 1952 as a Bible Club Missionary. She dedicated the rest of her life to serving the Lord and taught many generations of children about the Bible and loving Jesus.

Anna was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Marion, where she taught Sunday School and Junior Church. She also organized and taught Vacation Bible School and ran a Bible Camp each summer in Shipshewana. She attended camps in Pennsylvania each year as her own renewal in Christ. In later years, Anna became a member of the YMCA and faithfully attended water aerobics three times a week. She attributed her vitality and resistance to common diseases to her years of being around children and building her immunities.

Anna never married or had any children of her own, but she had many nieces and nephews, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making Anna a great, great, great Aunt.

Anna loved everyone and wanted each person she met to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. She was a prayer warrior and prayed for everyone. Her family knows that she is finally home where she always wanted to be, but they will truly miss their most loving and dedicated aunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings and spouses, Pearl Flora Miller Golden, Samuel August Miller, John Paul Miller, Jonathan David Miller, Mary E. Miller Sharp, and Ruth Emma Miller Trubow; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

A Celebration of Life service for Anna will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017, at the funeral home with Pastors Ray Kughen and Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
