Amanda May Buffington

Amanda May Buffington, 12, of Peru passed away at 8:00 AM, December 19, 2017 as the result of an accident on US 24 and Broadway in Peru. Amanda was born in Ft, Myers, Florida on October 17, 2005, the daughter of Daniel and Kristina Bailey Buffington. Amanda was a 6th grader at Blair Pointe School and attended St. Charles Catholic Church. Amanda was a good student who was very artistic and loved to paint and draw. Amanda enjoyed her Jazz Classes, swimming and spending time at Lake Manitou. She was an amazing big sister to Devin and loved hanging out with her grandma.

Amanda is survived by her parents, Daniel and Kristina, her brother Devin Buffington; paternal grandparents Joseph (Jeryl) Buffington, Peru, maternal grandfather Charles Bailey, North Port, FL, maternal great grandparents Toni (Mike) Schumacher, Battle Creek, MI; uncles David Buffington, Noblesville, IN, Jordan Bailey, North Port, FL; aunts Chelsie Bailey, Battle Creek, MI, Davi Bailey, Battle Creek, MI, step-maternal grandmother Stacey Bravick, Tampa, FL; cousins Lucile Buffington, Bennett Buffington, Lucy Keirn, Grant Keirn, Carlos Suarez and Kamarion Clayton and several special great Aunts and Uncles.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Mandy Irish.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Amanda May Buffington, will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, 58 W. 5th Street, Peru, IN with Father Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends and family will gather from 2:00-8:00 PM, Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN. There will be a prayer service at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made through the funeral home to the Amanda Buffington Fund at Beacon Credit Union, in care of Jeryl Buffington.
