Alwilla M. Hall-Roberts, 72, Marion, was welcomed into Heaven at 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. She was born in Marion on February 19, 1944, to Clarence and Opal (Huffman) Craig. On November 1, 2002, she married her best friend, Larry Roberts. Their love represents a bond that can never be broken. She truly cherished the trips they had taken and walks through Matter Park.

Alwilla attended school in Van Buren and was baptized at a young age. She worked as a CNA at MGH as her first job. She later was employed at Oak Hill and the Division of Family & Children until her retirement. Alwilla was an amazingly talented seamstress, making prom and wedding dresses sometimes without a pattern. Her passion was painting which allowed her to create the most beautiful works of art. She was very blessed to have the opportunity to visit Painter’s Alley in Paris, France.

Family was Alwilla’s life focus, and she was blessed to have many who cared about her. She is survived by her husband, Larry Roberts; siblings, Lawanna Owings and Barbara Sommers; sister-in-law, Sandy Craig; son, Jim (Karen) Hall; daughters, Deborah (Gary) Hevner and Christina (Jeremy) Chandler; step-sons, Chad (Korie) Roberts, Scott (Jenny) Roberts, Richard (Karree) Hayes, and Gabby Hayes; step-daughter, Sonja (Jeremy) Heath; grandchildren, Nitosha (Jason) Schlemmer, Patrick Regnault, Andrea (Hall) Haggerty, Jacob Hevner, Emma and Nolan Roberts, Austin Schmitt, and Jared and Grace Chandler; great-grandchildren, Delanie, Michael, and Preston Schlemmer, James and Evan Hall, and Shane Thinnes; and faithful companion, Rosie.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Orville Craig; half-brother, Keith Stambaugh; and previous spouses, James Hall, Sr., and Jewell Hayes.

Alwilla’s greatest gift was her love for God and family. She always had encouraging words full of compassion and love. She never knew a stranger and would offer comfort to anyone in need. Alwilla lived her life with honesty and integrity as her guide. She loved all children and reminded each one just how special and unique they are. She was quick to bless others and turn the other cheek with forgiveness. Her nurturing spirit was a blessing for everyone who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Services to celebrate Alwilla’s life are at the funeral home at 12 noon on Monday, November 14, 2016, with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
