Alma Mae Lofland, 98, Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 10, 2018 at the Heritage of Huntington.
Mrs. Lofland was born on November 25, 1919, to Russell and Mae Marie (Urschel) Correll in Huntington, IN. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Lofland married Bernard E. Lofland on April 5, 1942. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1978.
Mrs. Lofland was a 1938 graduate of Huntington High School. She retired from Wabash Magnetics in 1983 after 27 years. She then worked in the cafeteria at Horace Mann School until 2000. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Huntington, IN and PSI IOTA XI Sorority.
Survivors include two sons, Tyler (Lorraine) Lofland,Orange City, FL, and Kirk (Patricia) Lofland, Belleville, IL; five daughters, Sharon Lofland, Yvette (Lynn) Walter, Sheila Wall, all of Huntington, IN, Marsha (James) Thrasher, Gulfport, MS, and Leslie (Lynn) Foust, Niles, MI. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Scalf, Denise (Mike) James, Melissa Wesco, Natalie (Kip) Thorne, Brent (Tracy) Walter, Heather (Jamie) Grossman, Michael (Beth) Wall, Doug Thrasher, Amy Thrasher, Chris Thrasher, Vada Thrasher, Aaron Foust, Nicole Renaker, Megan Lofland, Ashlee Ramerez, Kaitlyn Lofland, Patrick Lofland, and Matthew Lofland and 18 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, James Correll and William Correll.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN with Rev. Lyle Ewing presiding.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
